My dad’s alma mater is Boston College and my brother is about to graduate from Virginia Tech, this combination has caused my family to be huge football fans. Our Saturday’s consist of football game on top of football game and what is a football game without the snacks?
This past Saturday I made my famous nachos. First you need to preheat the oven to 350ºF. I take Tostitos Bite Size chips and layer them on the bottom of a glass casserole dish. I than put a layer of medium salsa on top of the chips, you can use any kind of salsa depending on how hot your preference is. After the salsa comes my favorite part, the cheese. I grate a layer of Monterey Jack cheese on top of everything, than I go back over with a layer of Monterey Jack and Jalapeño cheese. I love cheese so I make it extra thick. Than you place the dish in the oven and allow it to cook for fifteen minutes. Once you take it out be sure to allow it to cool off, and enjoy!
It is the perfect dish for any football weekend especially for the Super Bowl!

Those sound super yummy. Especially if there was sour cram for the top. Or maybe a few jalapenos. Thanks for the recipie, I might just have to try that out for the Bears game this Sunday.
I really do believe I will be trying your recipe for nachos very soon. My family seems to be a lot like yours, we watch every college football game that we can. On most saturday evenings we seem to have company stop over to watch some of the games and we usually have potato chips or doritos to snack on, but these nachos will really be special.

A good recipe here, Erin. Do you have any others for us to try as well?
This sounds like you are really having a blast with this project. Now I must say that being a bachelor (tell the ladies i am available), that I have to learn about cooking. So instead of calling my female friends I invested in the Betty Croker cookbook. This was great because it got me used to the basics. Continue and I wish I could get some of those nachos.

Erin, this is a good idea for a Football snacks. For my son, when he was playing soccer, most the time, they want us to bring oranges that we usually sliced and water.
This sounds really good. My kids will love it! It seems as if you are doing pretty good with this cooking stuff. Have you tried anything difficult yet?
